Where Should I Get My Sneakers Cleaned in Toronto?

Investing in a good winter jacket is a no brainer if you want to make the most of the winter season. Though there are hundreds of outerwear brands to choose from, Canadian brands have dominated the industry from day one. From Mackage to Canada Goose, our team at Gibson’s cleans hundreds of these products each season. Here are our favourites:

Mackage

Designed in Montreal, Mackage is the outwear brand most praised for combining function with form. The company was founded in 1999, by Eran Elfassy and quickly rose to popularity for it use of fine leathers, down, and wool to create tailored silhouettes. Since then, Mackage has adopted a strong following amongst the fashion-conscious crowd for its use of embellished gold hardware, asymmetrical zippers, and exaggerated fur hoods. At Gibson’s we’re lucky to work closely with the Mackage team and email their office often to ask them questions about how to properly clean and care for their works of art.

Fun fact: The name Mackage came from Eran Elfassy’s niece when she mispronounced the French word for makeup or “maquillage.”

Canada Goose

Founded in the 1950s, Canada Goose is the OG Canadian sportswear and winter wear brand. These coats have a cult following for a reason – they actually keep you warm. Designed to withstand -30 C temperatures, each coat is impeccably tailored and designed with the highest quality materials. At Gibson’s, our dry cleaner is experienced in cleaning all Canada Goose styles including the Expedition Parkas, Mystique, Whitehorse and Rowley. We clean Canada Goose parkas and jackets as per their care label and will contact Canada Goose if we have specific questions about their products.

Fun Fact: Canada Goose reached new heights in the 1980s – literally – when Laurie Skreslet made history as the first Canadian to summit Mt. Everest in a custom Canada Goose parka.

 Mooseknuckle

Known for its youthful and free spirited brand identity, it might surprise you that Mooseknuckle has  been around for almost 100 years. Mooseknuckle coats and parkas are known by the gold or silver “Moose Knuckle” embellishment on the upper arm. The brand is known to incorporate the highest quality and ethically sourced materials in their product lines which includes their beautiful fur hoods and pom poms. In line with its youthful identity, the brand often collaborates with artists and well known designers to create limited edition parkas and coats. The Quebec jacket is one of the most popular designs Gibson’s cleans and is always cleaned as per the care label.

Fun fact: Little Kim DJ’ed at the US Mooseknuckle flagship launch in 2019.

Nobis

Engineered for any adventure – Nobis means business when they offer a lifetime warranty on their garments. Though the brand is newer to the mix, its founder Robin Yates is well versed in the realm of outerwear as Canada Goose’s former VP. Since 2007, it has quickly risen to A-list status. The key difference when cleaning a Nobis jacket, they’re actually machine washable! Cleaning instructions are described in depth on the company’s site and you can also bring your coat to their bricks and mortars stores and schedule a free cleaning and wash appointment.

Fun fact: Submit a photo of you wearing your Nobis using the #nobis hashtag and have the chance to be featured on their social media accounts.

Whether you are a fan of Nobis, Mackage, Canada Goose, or Moose Knuckle, the Gibson’s Cleaners team is experienced at professionally dry cleaning, wet cleaning, and repairing your winter jacket. We also offer free pick-up and delivery dry cleaning in Etobicoke, Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, and Oakville!
